Veronica Lodge

Veronica Cecilia Lodge is a central character in the Archie Comics franchise. First appearing in Pep Comics #36 in 1942 ^[1], Veronica is the teenage daughter and only child of wealthy businessman Hiram Lodge and his wife Hermione Lodge. She is new to the fictional town of Riverdale^[2] and is frequently characterized as spoiled, selfish, and controlling^[3]. Created by John L. Goldwater and Bob Montana, Veronica is the romantic interest of Archie Andrews and acts as both rival and best friend to Betty Cooper, with whom she competes for Archie's affection^[4]. She is played by Camila Mendes in the 2017 teen drama Riverdale^[5].
